GOD is awesome

I just want to give all the glory to God, I was talking to my son a few weeks ago and I was praying for him today and the new year, God has done such a mighty work in his life and he's only just begun.
Last year some time around August, I got a phone call from his wife and she said fernando was in a bad way and locked himself in the office at his business of a year, refused to come out and told her to call me and pray and she did. You see everything was falling around them his business was not doing well and their relationship was in jeopardy andhe was hooked on drugs following the loss of his best friend a month earlier. The devil had him and he didn't even see it coming till it was late .But God knows where were at and what it takes to change us or open our eyes. When my son realized he was about to loose everything he called, he was desperate for something to change and knew God was the only answer. I called pastor and he prayed with me for delivery and then the next mornong Sister Rena and brother Arevalo went with me to his worksite as he called that morning wanting prayer. Thank God for leaders that will pray and who are ther for you.
Anyhow we got to his mechanic business in pittsburg, and we prayed with him and God did a work all of his employees, I think there were 3 or 4 joined in as we prayed for him, for his business and his workers for deliverance.
We did not note a immediate response but they were open and seem to trust God was going to help them. Anyhow to make a long story short, My son called me about 3 weeks later and said he was completly drug free for 2 weeks and he felt great and know it is 8 months later and he remains drug free and his marriage is restored and he has a good job in Danville working as a smog tech. He lost his business or actually let it go and sold it back to original owner. But whats most important is God did a work he said this is the first time in years he has been able to think clearly and look at whats in stor e for him in the future. and I am excited too for I know God has a plan!
I hope this encourages you, that prayer works and God is indeed awesome, he cares about what is important to us. Continue to pray with me for my son Fernando and his family that they will find a good church in Pittsburg area and committ their lives to Jesus this year. | 01-11-2008 |
God is a healer

Good morning Matt,
Well about Hector, they said when he had his heart attack there was alot of damage
done to his heart and one artery was 90% clogged another was 70%. They wanted to do open heart surgery for the arteries but his heart was so damaged and he was very weak they didn't think he would make. He was put on a breathing machine and oxygen (he was unable to breathe on his own which of course caused his oxygen level to be very low).
(on Sunday he was out camping and Maria noticed he looked swollen and couldn't breathe good. He layed down for awhile and when he got up to get ready to leave he almost passed out trying to put his shoes on. They called the ambulance and took him to
back to Bakersfield - they were up in the grapevine area at a campsite. Anyway when they got to the hospital that's when he had the heart attack).
Everybody went over there on monday/tuesday, I believe it was tuesday afternoon after everyone left the Dr. came to talk to Maria about him, that's when he told her she should start thinking about and planning a service for him (that's how bad everything looked-He was at "Heart Hospital" so I guess the doctors see this condition everyday).
Me and Uncle David didn't go until the following saturday and the kids said he seemed to be doing better, the nurse said his oxygen level got a little bit better. On sunday they were going to cut an opening in his throat, to take the tubes from his mouth and put them in through there. But they said he just kept getting better. So they moved him to recovery and the next day they released him to go to a convalescent hospital-Maria choose to take him home (since her job was working at a convalescent or rest home doing the same type of care).
One of his nurses asked Maria who were the two boys that were in there praying for him She told them they were his nephews (Joanie's boys). She said she heard them praying for him and it was "the most beautiful prayer she ever heard"
and she knew that was why he got better. What a testimony! of God's goodness and mercy.
Although he lost some control on the left side of his body he is in the process of being healed. (Like Pastor says - some people are healed instantaneously and some are in the process of being healed).
I just thank God for touching him and giving him a few more years.
